About Us
Paul Pinto started making helmet decals in 1972 while he was a Manufacturing Engineer in San Diego, California and coached Pop Warner. He wanted to buy helmet decals for his team, but they were too expensive, so he set out on a quest to learn how to make them himself. Through trial and error Pinto Screen Prints was born.
For the next 18 years, Paul and Sandy Pinto raised two children while living in San Diego and both working full time, Paul as an Engineer and Sandy in the school district, while making helmet decals in the evenings and weekends. Their business grew from Pop Warner teams, to local High Schools and by 1980’s he was providing decals to Colleges all over the United States. In 1990 they decided to relocate to Klamath Falls, Oregon and produce Helmet Decals full time.
Through minimal advertising and word of mouth, his business continued to grow. Sixteen years later they decided it was time to slow down (Paul still sets up the art) and retire to Florida. In 2006 Pinto Decals Unlimited was born. The production facility is currently located in Redmond, Oregon and is operated by Travis Burgher, graduate of Boise State University where he played Football from 1999-2003. Travis is married to Lisa who teaches elementary school and they just welcomed the arrival of their daughter, Flora.
